Remote Interview Strategy Part 2: Visual and Personal Presentation
Beyond technical readiness, how you present yourself visually during a virtual meeting speaks volumes about your attention to detail. This is a quality critical in defence and security roles.
Essential Presentation Guidelines
Maintain a clean and uncluttered background. Plain walls or virtual blurs communicate focus and discipline.
Optimise your camera setup and lighting. Position the camera at eye level, avoid shadows or glare, and aim for a setting that feels as if you are in the same room.
Dress formally, as if attending in person. Even if your lower half is off-camera, a suit or equivalent attire signals respect for the process. Overdressing is harmless. Underdressing is risky.
A cohesive visual impression reinforces your readiness for roles that demand precision and professionalism.
